The unfortunate accident, which occurred late Thursday, has claimed the lives of three victims on the spot, leaving one trapped underground and another critically injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the youngsters had gone to the abandoned site to dig for gold when the pit suddenly caved in, burying them under heaps of loose soil.
