Ghana’s Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah successfully cleared 1.92 m in the qualification round of the women’s high jump at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, finishing 9th overall and securing one of the 16 spots in the final.

At 22 years old, she is making history as the first Ghanaian woman ever to reach a World Championship high jump final. Prior to this event, Yeboah has been Ghana’s standout field event athlete, having won gold at the 2023 African Games and the 2024 African Championships, and holding a personal best of 1.97 m from the 2024 NCAA Championships.

Rose Yeboah’s qualification is a significant breakthrough for Ghanaian athletics. With her personal best at 1.97 m and growing confidence, she stands as one of the key athletes to watch in the final—against elite competitors like Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Nicola Olyslagers.
