A female university student in Nigeria has reportedly been expelled after authorities uncovered alleged academic misconduct involving a secret affair with one of her lecturers. The developing situation has sparked widespread debate across social media, especially after the student publicly leaked intimate videos she recorded during their relationship.
According to multiple reports, the student admitted to maintaining a brief but secret affair with the lecturer, whose identity remains undisclosed. She confessed that the relationship involved several intimate encounters, which she claimed were exchanged in hopes of influencing her academic grades.

The incident took an unexpected turn when the student uploaded the videos online. She alleged that the lecturer had promised her favourable grades in return for their private relationship, but failed to fulfil his part of the agreement. After her academic results reportedly did not improve—and with disciplinary actions initiated against her—the student decided to release the recorded tapes as evidence.
The release of the videos has since caused outrage within the school community, prompting the institution’s management to launch a full-scale investigation. Officials indicate that the move aims at restoring order and ensuring accountability among students and faculty members.
The school board condemned both the inappropriate relationship and the circulation of explicit content, stressing that both parties may face further consequences pending the outcome of the inquiry. Students on campus have expressed mixed reactions: some say the leak was an act of retaliation, while others argue that it highlights the deep-rooted issue of coercion and exploitation in academic settings.
Authorities are now reviewing the lecturer’s conduct to determine whether he abused his position or breached institutional ethics. The student, meanwhile, faces dismissal due to violation of the school’s behavioural and academic integrity policies, including engaging in forbidden relationships and distributing explicit material.
The case has sparked broader discussions about sexual misconduct, lecturer-student relationships, and the need for stronger protective policies in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. Investigations remain ongoing.
