Accra, Ghana — Jonathan “Worldwide” Tetteh delivered a commanding performance to defeat Seth Gyimah, better known as Freezy Macbones, to capture the WBA Africa Light Heavyweight title on Saturday night at the University of Ghana Stadium during the Legacy Rise boxing event.

The bout, held on December 20, 2025, captivated a packed crowd as both fighters entered the ring with strong records and high expectations. Tetteh, undefeated entering the clash, imposed his game plan early, showcasing sharp hand speed, disciplined defense, and tactical ring control that kept the veteran Macbones on the back foot through much of the contest.

Despite Macbones’ experience and reputation as a heavy favorite, Tetteh maintained his composure over the scheduled eight rounds. The fight took a dramatic turn in the final round when Macbones was penalized a point for unsportsmanlike conduct following an altercation that briefly shifted momentum in the title fight. That deduction proved crucial as the judges ultimately scored the match in Tetteh’s favor by unanimous decision.
The victory marks a historic milestone for Tetteh’s career, handing him his first major continental title and a significant accolade in African boxing. For Macbones, the loss represents his first professional defeat after entering the bout unbeaten.
The memorable night in Accra not only elevated Tetteh’s status in the light heavyweight division but also energized local fans, who celebrated his rise to prominence on the African boxing scene.
