Ghana Clinches Gold in Mixed 4×100m Freestyle Relay at Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Championships

Team Ghana made a significant splash on the opening day of the 2024 Africa Aquatics Zone 2 Swimming Championships, held at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra. The highlight of the day was the victory of Ghana’s mixed 4×100m freestyle relay team, who clinched the gold medal with a time of 3:46.54, finishing ahead of Nigeria and Senegal. 

This achievement was part of a stellar performance by Team Ghana, which secured a total of 56 medals across both junior and senior categories. Notable individual performances included Harry Stacey, who won multiple golds in the 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke, and 50m freestyle, and 12-year-old Jada Yankey, who earned gold in the 400m individual medley and bronze in the 200m freestyle. 

The championships continue to showcase the rising talent and competitive spirit of Ghanaian swimmers on the continental stage.
