English-born Ghanaian star Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah is set to make a historic appearance on her home soil in Greater Accra as the Black Queens face off in their next fixture.

Boye-Hlorkah, born and raised in Liverpool to an English mother and Ghanaian father, has never played in Ghana before this moment. The 30-year-old forward, who proudly identifies as Ga and hails from Jamestown, is experiencing an emotional homecoming.

She began her football journey at just four years old, rising through the ranks in England. Over the years, Chantelle has built an impressive career, representing top clubs including Everton Ladies, Aston Villa Women, London City Lionesses, and currently Nottingham Forest Women. Internationally, she previously featured for England at the U19 and U23 levels before choosing to represent her fatherland, Ghana.

Before the recent Women’s AFCON, Boye-Hlorkah had never set foot in Ghana. She wished her debut trip would be memorable—and it was. The Black Queens clinched bronze after finishing third in the tournament, and Chantelle celebrated that victory with pride.

Her English mother played a key role in keeping her connected to her Ghanaian heritage, often preparing traditional meals like peanut butter soup, fufu, kenkey, and gari. Her father, Mr. Boye, is a proud native of Greater Accra.

As she steps onto the field in Jamestown today, Chantelle isn’t just playing football—she’s fulfilling a personal dream, bridging her British upbringing with her Ghanaian roots.

Her presence is expected to boost morale among the Black Queens and inspire young girls across Accra to chase their dreams.
