A young Senegalese footballer, identified as Alassane Diallo, has been declared missing in Ghana after reportedly falling victim to a fraudulent football recruitment scheme.

According to his family, Alassane traveled to Ghana on October 18, 2025, after receiving what appeared to be an official offer to join a football club. Upon arrival, the supposed “recruiters” demanded £850 for registration fees and later requested an additional £1,200, claiming it was required for final team placement.

Believing the offer was legitimate, his family in Senegal sent the full amount. However, shortly after the payment was made, Alassane stopped answering his phone and could no longer be reached.

His family has since issued an urgent appeal to the public, Ghanaian authorities, and international football organizations to help find their missing son.

This case raises growing concerns about the rise of fake football scouts operating across West Africa, exploiting the dreams of young players hoping to play professionally abroad.

Authorities in Ghana are yet to release an official statement, but investigations are said to be underway.

Anyone with credible information about Alassane Diallo’s whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement immediately.
