Brazilian lawyer and social media sensation Leonardo Muylaert, popularly known as Superman, made a remarkable appearance at the eighth Akwasidae Festival held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. His visit drew significant attention as he immersed himself in the rich customs, culture, and traditions of the Asante Kingdom.

Clad in traditional Kente attire, Leonardo expressed admiration for the discipline, unity, and deep cultural pride of the Asante people. He described the experience as “spiritually enlightening,” adding that it was an honor to witness the cultural heritage of Africa’s great kingdoms firsthand.
The Akwasidae Festival, celebrated every six weeks by the Asante, honors ancestors and strengthens the bond between the people and their king, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Leonardo’s participation highlights the growing global fascination with Ghana’s cultural heritage and reinforces the message that African traditions continue to inspire people around the world.
