A shocking incident from Mudford, a suburb of Apam in the Central Region, has left many people outraged after a 49-year-old fisherman, identified as Wofa Samuel Armah, also known as Kofi Nyan, was captured on video assaulting a 13-year-old girl in a ghetto while some members of the public looked on.

In the viral video obtained by Crime Check TV GH, the suspect is heard telling the young girl in Twi that she would “pay back” an amount he claimed she owed him by spending time with him against her will.

According to reports, the suspect accused the girl of taking GHC 800. Instead of reporting the issue to the police, he lured her into a ghetto and forced her into the situation, insisting that it was the only way she could repay him.

Even as the girl pleaded with him to stop and allow her to find the money, the suspect refused to listen. Witnesses at the scene reportedly reacted in different ways — some were alarmed, while others failed to intervene.

The police have since arrested the suspect. Four others who were present during the incident are currently on the run and being pursued by authorities.

The young victim has been taken to St. Luke Catholic Hospital for medical examination and support, as investigations continue.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation from the public, with many calling for justice and stronger protection for vulnerable children.

Wofa Samuel Armah is expected to appear before court in the coming days to face the law.
