President John Dramani Mahama has confirmed that all six individuals who tragically lost their lives in the Elwak Stadium stampede were female.

The heartbreaking incident occurred earlier today during the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise, which attracted thousands of eager applicants. Overcrowding at the stadium led to chaos, resulting in injuries and the loss of six lives.
Speaking after visiting the injured recruits at the 37 Military Hospital, President Mahama expressed deep sorrow over the deaths and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.
“It’s tough to know that all six who died were young women, full of dreams and hope to serve their country,” the President said emotionally. “We must ensure this never happens again.”
Authorities have since launched investigations into the cause of the stampede, while security and health officials continue to monitor the condition of those hospitalized.
